The Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) says it’s great the influenza “flu” vaccine is available early. New Zealanders at highest risk of complications from influenza, and those in contact with high risk people, particularly healthcare staff, can now get vaccinated as soon as possible 

The Ministry of Health has launched the 2020 influenza vaccination campaign early and widely expanded the number of patients eligible for funded vaccinations through pharmacies, due to the COVID-19 outbreak

The Ministry of Health and Pharmac have made 55,000 new doses of influenza vaccine available this week to help relieve a nationwide shortage. 

Vaccinators are asked to limit their influenza shots to only those eligible for publicly funded injections
